Nathalie Vanner

Reflexologist dedicated to well-being

Nathalie Vanner, originally from France, has lived in Canada for over 20 years. After spending 18 years in Quebec, she finally settled in Prince Edward Island three and a half years ago, in New London, where she recently opened her reflexology and auricular therapy practice. Full of empathy and passionate about helping people achieve greater balance, Nathalie now dedicates herself to providing compassionate and personalized care to her clients.

“My professional journey has always been centered on supporting individuals, with various approaches throughout my career. Initially, I worked mainly in the field of human resources, whether in private, municipal or community organizations. Helping and supporting people is something that has always greatly appealed to me,” shares Nathalie.

Nathalie found her path to the world of wellness by combining her experience in human resources with her passion for therapeutic touch and reflexology. What attracted her to reflexology was the holistic vision of this practice: “It’s not just about resolving a single aspect of someone’s life, but above all, it’s a way of supporting the person on all levels—psychological, emotional, and physical. So, I naturally arrived at this stage where I want to be self-employed, welcoming clients and offering them an even more personalized approach,” she explains.

To begin this career change, the former director of the Belle Alliance Centre in Summerside completed extensive training at the Atlantic School of Reflexology in New Brunswick. She then became a member of the Canadian Reflexology Association and continues to pursue ongoing professional development. In fact, she will soon be undertaking training in craniofacial therapy.

Reflexology is gaining popularity thanks to its numerous health benefits. It promotes relaxation and general well-being, and can also relieve or even prevent various ailments, particularly those related to stress. It is a gentle and non-invasive manual technique based on the principle that certain areas of the feet, hands, and ears are connected to other parts of the body. By applying specific pressure to these areas, a reflexologist can activate the body's self-healing processes and promote relaxation throughout the body. This practice is suitable for a wide range of people.

Nathalie welcomes clients of all ages and backgrounds: “I have the pleasure of working with everyone. There's no typical profile. It's for children, the elderly, people of all generations,” she emphasizes. Even though the vast majority of her clients are English-speaking, she is proud to be able to offer her services in both languages. The most important thing for Nathalie is to provide a high-quality service where people feel comfortable, regardless of their language or level of linguistic insecurity: “I try to use several methods to meet people's needs and ensure their understanding. For example, for auricular therapy, I like to accompany my explanations with diagrams or photos to show how the sinuses work and why we're working on them,” she says. She also wants the cost of her services to be accessible, which is why she can provide receipts for insurance reimbursement.
