Who are we?



What exactly is the PEIFHN?
The Prince Edward Island French Health Network (PEIFHN) is a non-profit organization that collaborates with various partners in order to improve access to quality French-language health services and programs for Prince Edward Island’s Acadian and Francophone community.
The organization brings together representatives from community groups, educational institutions and the provincial government, as well as health professionals and health service managers.
An Acadian and Francophone community in Prince Edward Island that thrives through easy access to health services and programs in French that meet its real needs.

To work closely with our partners to improve and streamline access to health care and services in French in Prince Edward Island.
Our objectives

To create and maintain a space for exchange and collaboration among health and wellness professionals.

To develop concrete strategies that meet the health and wellness needs of Acadian and Francophone communities.

To raise awareness among provincial authorities of the importance of incorporating bilingual human resources into the planning and delivery of services in French.

To encourage the Acadian and Francophone community to actively request services in French.

To develop and offer practical solutions for instituting quality health services in French that reflect best practices and community wellness.

Our national network: Société Santé en français (SSF)
The PEIFHN is one of 16 provincial networks that make up the Société Santé en français, a national entity that strives to improve access to health care in French across Canada. The SSF supports the provincial networks through the provision of financial assistance and practical tools to facilitate the delivery of services in French. Together, we are taking action to educate communities and governments about the importance of these services.
